Albedo Tee
The coolest thing you can do is reflect.
At 35 C the air is as warm as your skin, so convection has no gradient to work with and evaporation is the only cooling left. That makes how much sun the shirt absorbs the biggest lever there is: black takes about three times what a pale fabric does. We also specify how much light passes through, because a pale shirt you can see daylight through hands most of that back.
A hot weather work tee for direct sun. Albedo is the fraction of sunlight a surface reflects, and on this garment it is the whole design. Everything else follows from it.
Proposed engineering
- Pale low absorption knit, specified by measurement not by colour
- Specified for solar transmission as well as reflectance
- UPF 50+ target, tested wet and stretched
- Knitted mesh at the underarm and lateral torso
- No mesh under a pack, where it would do nothing
- Relaxed cut, because fit moves more air than holes do
- One orange bartack at the vent
