Sized outward from a 14 inch laptop with 6 mm of clearance, then checked against the pack it has to slide into. Across the opening there is room. In depth there is none: a folio at its limit and a pack at its limit are exactly the same 40 mm, and exactly is not a fit you can slide a loaded folio into. That number has to move before this is a promise.
A slim folio for the walk from desk to meeting to coffee shop. A padded laptop bay behind a recessed technical panel, reinforced corner patches at the wear points, and a webbing handle that takes a shoulder strap when your hands are full.
